The road upgrades include provision of 4 lanes dual carriageway (A8) separated by a median/crush barrier hence reducing likelihood of head-on collision of vehicles

Other proposed measures such as major and minor junction improvements, enhancement of road surface (A8 South), improved geometrics as well provision of adequate lighting, trains, vehicles, cattle, wildlife and pedestrian overpass and underpass crossings will help in reducing number of accidents
